WhatsApp breach turns into a competitive advantage for secure messaging & calling apps Telegram and Signal

Security experts said Telegram, a Russian app, and Signal, run by a US-based non-profit organisation run by, among others, WhatsApp cofounder, are being viewed as having more secure features and updates. On Google Play, Signal peaked at 31st position in the communications app downloads category in India on Nov 1, a jump from its 255th position a week ago.

Malware attack on users: CERT-In alerted three days before WhatsApp pinged

CERT-In, the country’s nodal cybersecurity agency, picked up the threat by using internal tools deployed to screen vulnerabilities and published its first advisory to Indian users on May 17, people in the know said. It rated the severity as “high” and said the vulnerability could be exploited by making a “decoy WhatsApp voice call”.

OnePlus ‘ahead’ of target, hopes to make it big offline

Non-personal data panel pings ecommerce companies Amazon, Flipkart for talks

The panel also met several health and health-tech companies. China’s Huawei forecasts smartphone growth despite Trump blacklisting
