Ministry of I&B to meet again with industry to debate online video content regulation

Sources familiar with the matter said the industry believes there are enough laws, including the Information Technology Act, to regulate online content and seek legal recourse. They argued that streaming platforms are meant for private viewing, unlike traditional mediums such as television and cinema, which are broadcast publicly.

WhatsApp can’t start payments business, RBI tells SC

NPCI manages UPI, which clocked over a billion transactions last month. The SC had recently asked RBI to update it on WhatsApp’s data localisation status. WhatsApp could be hit in its biggest mkt. This was RBI’s response dated November 6 to the SC as the apex court had asked it to update it on WhatsApp’s data localisation compliance status in August.

ISRO warned of a possible cyberattack when Dtrack came calling

An ISRO official confirmed that an alert was received from the CERT-In, but the space agency was not affected. The alert came around the time of the Chandrayaan-2 mission.
