Indian firms to delay spend in transformation, total IT spending to reach $94 in 2020: Gartner

“They (organisations in India) may delay those investments given the environment especially in the manufacturing sector because that is going through a very tough time, customer experience related transformation initiatives can be put on hold or go slow. “It will be harsh to say they are not going to put in money in transformation,” said Gartner.

India smartphone makers ship a record 46.6 min units in Q3: IDC

The feature phone market, which accounted for 43.3 per cent of the total mobile phone shipments, registered a 17.5 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) decline in the September 2019 quarter to 35.6 million units. Shipments of 4G-enabled feature phones declined 20.3 per cent y-o-y due to heavy inventory in the channel.

Mastodon cashing in on Twitter’s failings

Mastodon is a decentralised social networking service, which allows users to create their own private networks. The social network told ET that while it does not collect user data, it saw 18,800 new users on mastodon.social alone over the last week. By comparison, growth was about 1,000 a week on mastodon.social earlier.
