Government localises ‘critical’ & ‘sensitive’ personal data

There’s no restriction on other kinds of personal information, partially taking into account the demands of global companies such as Google and Facebook, while aiming to safeguard data sovereignty. The Bill, which has not been made public yet, will be introduced in the current session of Parliament on “priority”.

Make real identities must, house panel tells Twitter

According to those present in the meeting, the company was specifically asked to consider making the entry of only persons over the age of 15 on twitter and also take reports of abuse on the platform very seriously. Twitter told panel about the measures the company has taken to empower people, & women particularly with tools like mute, block and report.

India's cybersecurity market to touch USD 3 bn by 2022: PwC-DSCI report

The transaction value of digital payments in India is estimated to grow annually at a rate of 20.2 per cent from about USD 64.8 billion in 2019 to USD 135.2 billion in 2023, the report by PwC India and Data Security Council of India said. Digital growth, rising cyber-attacks, and stringent regulatory mandates are the three main factors driving the market.

7 in 10 Indian executives believe AI will change the way we work and live in next decade, shows survey

The findings of the survey show that 71 per cent strongly believe that AI will fundamentally change the way we live and work during the next decade, and that an overwhelming 96 per cent believe those changes will be positive. 44 per cent said that their roles have already been impacted by AI.

On May 20, WhatsApp reported an incident to country's cyber security watchdog Cert-In, stating that it had identified and promptly fixed a vulnerability that could enable an attacker to insert and execute code on mobile devices. WhatsApp also told CERT-In that the vulnerability could no longer be exploited to carry out attacks.
