Under CEO Brian Humphries, Cognizant is taking a slew of steps to invest and boost growth. In October, the Teaneck, New Jersey-headquartered company said it would cut as many as 7000 jobs, and exit content moderation impacting a further 6000 employees, to slash costs and focus on key businesses.
Cognizant warned of job cuts in October to invest in growth areas such as cloud and internet of things and cushion the impact from a decline in spending by its financial customers, which the company expected to continue through the second half of 2019.
Twitter made the announcement on Tuesday in a blog post. The initial draft was announced in November. It said it collected user feedback ahead of finalising the new policy, using the hashtag #TwitterPolicyFeedback.
"The recent outbreak of respiratory illness caused by novel coronavirus (nCoV) first detected in Wuhan, China, has concerned Huawei. In accordance with instructions from authorities, Huawei has initiated contingency plans to help contribute to the health and safety of our staff and the communities in which we operate," Huawei India said in a statement.
The company said almost 20,000 tickets have already been sold for the tournament. It is being tentatively rescheduled to June or July. Acer said it will continue to closely monitor the coronavirus (2019-nCoV) situation and further announce when an exact date has been determined. Acer has hosted the tournament for two years now.
Of the 240,000 direct jobs, around 157,000 will be in digital and technology-related roles such as data scientists, product managers, engineering, design, user experience and infrastructure management jobs with cloud service providers, IT service providers and across industry verticals.
Cognizant said it was entering into exclusive negotiations to buy the French operations of El-Technologies, a digital consulting and Salesforce specialist, for an undisclosed sum. The IT company will add about 345 employees in France.
