The CoE signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with 5 partners TVAGA (Telangana VFX, Animation and Gaming Association), Hyderabad Angles, HYSEA, and IIIT- Hyderabad to provide resources like mentoring, technology support, infrastructure and funding.
Google launched Station in India in 2015, as a partnership between Google, Indian Railways and Railtel to bring fast, free public WiFi to over 400 of the busiest railway stations in India and crossed that number by June 2018. While the Indian Railways provided the fibre connectivity for the Internet, Google was responsible for installing and maintaining the access points.
"But we crossed that number by June 2018 and implemented Station in thousands of other locations around the country in partnership with telecommunications companies, ISPs and local authorities. Over time, partners in other countries asked for Station too and we responded accordingly," Google Vice President Caesar Sengupta said in a blogpost.
“G-SOC is largely focused on medium-sized business and SMEs. It gives them the ability to buy on a Pay-by-Use model. These kind of companies are more keen to look at our G-SOC services as it gives them the flexibility to get the best in breed services without making major investments and also protects them from technology obsolescence,” said Manoj Kanodia, CEO, Inspira Enterprise.
The center will be home to Microsoft’s engineering teams across various technology groups, including A) & Research Group, Cloud & Enterprise Group, and Experience & Devices Group, along with Core Services Engineering and Operations. It will also house Mixer, Microsoft’s live streaming gaming platform team, becoming the first center to host the gaming team outside the company headquarters in Redmond.
